I've done P90X while still running too. I had great results and enjoyed the work outs. I found the chest and arm work outs to be the most beneficial since those are the areas that are neglected in my running routine. Keep trying the pull ups and after a few weeks don't be scared to try them without the chair. This is a post that runners of any ability can relate to I'm sure.

I've just completed my first marathon and get so excited at the thought of pushing towards ultra distances and going out on day long 'run-abouts'.

I also know that my friends who have never participated in running events will take a lot away from this.

I have the videos. I did the Lean Program for 2 weeks. I had to quit because I had a right elbow injury from hitting my speed bag and also my right knee was weird at the time. now I feel healthy enough to start it again, but time is not on my side. Although I really think P90X can help build strngth for running. Especailly if I am going to do that half marathon at the end of Sept. One thing about p90X is that it really does burn calories...When I did it I was starving all the time!! It is sick how many pull us those guys do on the video.

Presently it is the blind leading the blind... I say create a Big Plug... with a pointed end that widens out at the top... a big stopper... and ram it into the hole and keep ramming till the hole is plugged. And they are talking about clean up... well we will know how well that is working after everything dies... They need a leader desperately. I say do testing after you have plugged the hole. And know too it is not just the water being polluted... These hydrocarbons are going directly into the air. Talk about the carbon foot print. Watch it closely that is high pressured hydrocarbon gas coming out of there. And we have controls at the gas pump to release very little Hydrocarbons... And now we are watching as tons of Hyrdocarbons are being put into our air. Everyone should read about our dropping Oxygen level on our planet. We can not imagine where we are headed.

Good to know. When I get back to incorporating some minimalist footwear into my training I will start with my VFFs but I might try to make some huaraches.

I am afraid of kicking rocks. I kicked some rocks in my Vasques and it was still a little painful...can only imagine how much it hurt to do that in VFFs or in huaraches!

It's a bit painful at first, but like anything it goes away and/or you learn to cope with it. :)

I don't get any chafing with the laces. The gap between the middle of my toes hurt the first few runs in them, but not anymore. I think I had to learn how to land in them properly and that helped. I love how the contour to my feet actually. When I bend my arch, the sandals bend with me; very UN-like any flip flop or sandal out there. Highly recommended ;)

I plan to use them more this summer, and use my VFF's a lot less... Plus they're dirt cheap to make. :)
